Gary III sent us handouts he received while on
his Nuevo Vallarta trip in May. These handouts are a great guide to
the property and provide a schematic overview of the resorts and
restaurants on the property. These documents appear below. You can
also download the map and legend by clicking on the words.
Thanks Gary. These are a great help!

Sharron asked where the Bliss buildings were going to be located. Unfortunately, we do not have an answer to your question, Sharron. But John and Ruth provided us with architect's renderings, which we have enhanced by isolating specific parts for easier viewing.
Although the images are interesting and the locations appear to make sense, there are so many changes that take place before the footings are poured. Therefore, we cannot rely on these as final indications of where specific buildings will be located. When you visit the property in person, you will see what we mean. Enjoy!

John and Ruth have provided images of the future. Architects' renderings provide an interesting glimpse into the Grupo Vidanta / Grupo Mayan thinking.
The organization is projecting an enormous amount of construction and development. When it is all done, the Grupo Mayan / Grupo Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta property will be very exciting, to say the least.
There are some interesting observations from the renderings. One is Mansions of the World might be located on the beach at the south end of the property. Another is there will be another Grand Luxxe building called Luxxe Punta, which from the looks of it will be quite glamorous.
Other observations include Nayar Town could become El Pueblito. Luxxe units will be sprinkled in El Pueblito. Plans to build a Las Vegas style theater are in the works. And, we hear that El Pueblito will be open to non-guests of the Grupo Vidanta / Grupo Mayan resorts.
So, what do we think about all of this? More space. More upgrades. More people. More activity. Lots of excitement. More activities. More value. And, the most important thing to us.....more fun!
BTW, check out the new maps. Definitely a change from what we saw in February.
Thanks to Frank and Linda for providing us with the following link to see the Nuevo Vallarta Mayan Property using updated images from Google Maps:
Copy the link and paste it to your browser's address bar. You can zoom in quite a bit to see details of the property. The lakes and waterways for what we initially thought were going surround the Nayar Beach and River Town are coming along as is the golf course expansion. As noted earlier, all we can do is speculate what the intimate configuration will be since the ultimate decision will be known when we see announcements directly from Grupo Mayan / Grupo Vidanta resorts management.
You can also see pictures of the maps below. The first two maps are as of January 23, 2009.
For us, it is great fun to see continued progress in these most challenging times.

Thanks to a friend, who has informed us that the maps that appear below are now out of date. Of course, we all should expect change. As buildings become physical realities, the spatial relationships of the property may change. To us, the build out of this project is as much an art form as it is a practical challenge to use the property in the best way possible.
So, it comes as no surprise to us that management is considering another option for the old sales building location. It is a prime piece of the development and many very smart people are looking closely at how the property can best be put to use.
Current thoughts are the Villa buildings will move closer to the beach. We will all have to wait until something more concrete than what we hear presents itself.

We received different maps of the Nuevo Vallarta property that show where buildings might be located. These are "proforma" maps because the developer has the right to change his mind.
We thought it would be instructional to post these maps because they provide an overview that does not always seem obvious. For example, we had no idea that there is a town (Las Jarretaderas) not far from the current property configuration. La Laguna, which is a great restaurant, is located on the main road that passes Las Jarretaderas. As the property expands to include parking near the main highway and the extension of the golf course, Las Jarretaderas becomes more visible because we will pass by it every time we enter the property, play golf or leave the property.
All of this is interesting to us, and hope it is to you as well.
Thanks to Google Maps for the aerial views.
