Here are Ed and Cheryl's comments about their stay at the Grand Luxxe II Tower. It has received good reviews so far.
November 15, 2010
Just returned from Nuevo last Saturday after staying two
weeks at the Grand Luxxe. First week was in a Junior Villa in Tower I and the
second week in a Villa (1 Bdrm) in Tower II.
First, the views of Puerto Vallarta
from Tower II were fabulous. We were on the 7th floor and had a great view of
the Bird Sanctuary at the mouth of the America River as well as the bay in front
of downtown PV. We could see almost out to the southern point of Banderas Bay
(blocked by Tower I and if you leaned out off the deck could just catch the
sunsets. Great morning sun on the deck and nice afternoon shade. The city lights
in PV were beautiful at night as well as cruise ships coming and going. We were
the first residents in our particular room and initially some minor problems.
The finish in the wood deck was still tacky so for a couple of days we wore
their slippers on the deck and changed into our own shoes in the room. We had a
'punch list' the first couple of days of some problems and they were fixed
immediately. Some nice improvements over Tower I - No Hammock, you now have two
chaise lounges as well as table, chairs and sofa on the deck. Pool has a color
wheel installed so by tweaking with the pool light (in the bedroom) you can set
the speed the colors change. Great at night while sitting on the deck. Colors
slowly fade to several shades of blue, green, yellow and magenta. Sinks in
bathroom much deeper than in Tower I with faucets higher on the wall. Much more
functional. There may be more differences but nothing major.
that they number rooms with odd numbers facing the ocean and even facing the
grounds with the exception of Tower I both sides face the water - one in the
direction of the resort and the other facing the city. Don't think there is a
bad room in Tower I. The even sided rooms in Tower II face the lagoon, Nayar
Town eventually and the golf course. Unfortunately, presently, much of that is
As previously mentioned, the Spa on the first floor of Tower
II will be a great added benefit. No dramatic lobby like Tower I but very quiet
at night. One final observation, the side deck on the Junior Villa in Tower II
also has two chairs and a table (no hammock) similar to the deck off the
bedroom. Much more useful for two people and now in most rooms you'll have one
deck typically in the sun and the other in the shade depending upon the time of
day - Your choice, sun or shade. Can't wait to go back!!! Thanks Ed. Can't wait to see your photos.
Thank you Ed and Cheryl.....
